Ingredients:

  • 1 Kg Rice
  • 1 Kg Chicken
  • 6 Small Potatoes
  • 3 Medium Tomatoes
  • 2 Medium Onion
  • 2 Lemon
  • Green Chilies
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • 4-5 Tbsp Yogurt
  • Coriander & Mint Leaves
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 2 Tbsp Biryani Masala
  • 3 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Red Crushed Chili
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 10-12 Cloves
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 Cup Oil
  • Food Color Mix With Water

Directions:

In wok, add oil, onion and fry until translucent

Now take out half fried onions for later use

Add cumin seeds, start anise, cloves, ginger garlic paste and fry for 1-2 minutes

Add chicken, garam masala and fry for 3-4 minutes

Add tomatoes (without skin), red crushed chili, biryani masala (homemade), salt, mix, cover it and cook with 5 minutes

Add yogurt, mix it and cook until chicken is soft

Add 90% boiled potato, mix it and cook for 1 minute

Now make layer for biryani, add green chilies, sliced lemon, rice, food color (mix with water), coriander, mint leaves, fried onion, cover it and cook on steam (5 minutes on medium heat & then 15-20 minutes on low heat)

Remove cover, mix it slowly/ carefully and enjoy!
